Taylor Swift was in New York City for an advanced screening of the first two episodes of The End of an Era.
Us Weekly was in attendance for the special event at The Walt Disney Company’s 7 Hudson Square Theatre in New York City on Tuesday, December 9, and can confirm fans should prepare for an emotional docuseries when the show premieres exclusively on Disney+ Friday, December 12.
Today alum Hoda Kotb, Gayle King and Robin Roberts were just some of the famous Swifites who scored an invite to the intimate event.
Taylor’s family, including parents Andrea and Scott Swift and brother Austin Swift, were also in attendance alongside the Grammy winner’s band members, dancers and back-up singers.
The End of an Era is described as an illuminating docuseries that will give Swifties an intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and thrilled fans around the world.
The docuseries will feature Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran and Florence Welch offering never-before-seen insight into what it took to create a phenomenon.
Many of Taylor’s band, dancers, crew and family members will also be featured in the project.
“Honestly can’t think of a better way to celebrate my (almost) birthday than to relive the Eras Tour with you!” Taylor, 35, wrote via Instagram on November 13 when announcing the project. “This time we’re going backstage. The End of an Era, a 6-episode behind-the-scenes docuseries, streams on @disneyplus beginning Dec 12 🫶.”

That same day, Disney released the official trailer for The End of an Era. In the preview, Taylor opened up about how special her latest tour was for herself and the millions of fans who were able to experience it live.
“I’m very aware of mysterious forces at play that I will never have any control of,” she shared in the trailer. “This show created a bonding experience for, like, 70,000 people all at once. There’s something very special about that.”
The “Shake It Off” singer went on to share her intention with the tour, including the hopes that she could “overserve the fans in terms of the amount of songs they were going to hear and how far I was going to push myself.”
“My main goal is to give something to the fans that they didn’t expect,” she added.
In addition to putting the spotlight on her talented team — who she affectionately referred to as the “best” in the “entire industry” — Taylor will also share a glimpse into her relationship with fiancé Travis Kelce.
The trailer shows multiple scenes where the Kansas City Chiefs player is cheering on Taylor as she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. Another moment shows the singer watching Kelce, 36, play football on TV before another tour stop.
“This was a seismic, momentous period of time in my life,” Taylor shared in the trailer, “and in the lives of anyone who this tour touched.”
The End of an Era premieres Friday, December 12, on Disney+.
