Nicholas Braun has reportedly entered a not guilty plea after he was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge.
In documents obtained by TMZ on Monday, September 15, Braun, 37, authorized his attorney to enter his plea. A judge is now reportedly ordering the actor to avoid alcohol, narcotics and controlled substances as the case progresses.
The Carroll County, New Hampshire, jail confirmed to Us Weekly on September 2 that Braun had been arrested for a DUI and was released on August 30.
TMZ reported at the time that Braun was held for about an hour before he walked out of the jail on his own recognizance. Us reached out to Braun’s team for comment at the time.
Braun’s arrest came two years after he wrapped Succession, where he played Cousin Greg and earned three Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.
Since the show’s series finale, Braun has pursued various projects, including Splitsville and Saturday Night, as well as 2026’s Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie — a thriller where he is expected to appear alongside Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson.
Outside of his career, Braun has given fans a glimpse of his personal life with girlfriend Hyunji Ward. The pair first sparked romance rumors when they were spotted at HBO and Max’s post Emmys party in 2024. Braun and Ward appeared to confirm their relationship when he kissed her after Succession won Best Drama Series at the Critics Choice Awards.
He went on to make their relationship Instagram official in April, sharing a series of photos featuring the duo while celebrating her birthday.
“HBD to my sweet sweet DARLING of a girlfriend!!!” Braun wrote at the time. “You are the absolute joy of my life. You make me my best self!! Like when you said that I could pull off this shirt full of forks. You were right. Love you dearly ❤️.”
Braun’s Succession costar Sarah Snook wrote in the comments section, “Happy happy birthday @_bunji!! Hopefully see you in NYC soon! Xx.”
Before the relationship, Braun shared that he had never “been in a long-term relationship ever.”
“I do yearn for it and yet I’m incapable of it,” he told The New York Times in 2021. “I go toward it and then I hit a wall where I’m like, ‘I can’t go farther into this. I’ve got to exit.’ I do believe it’ll happen at the right time with the right person.”
