Christine Brown broke down the reason why she cut ties with Robyn Brown before her split from Kody Brown on the latest episode of Sister Wives.
“I feel betrayed by Robyn. Just betrayed,” Christine, 53, told husband David Woolley on the Sunday, November 2, episode of the TLC series when asked where she stands with her former sister wives. “I felt like I could never really trust her, ever.”
Christine recalled, “There’s things I confided in her, and then she would tell Kody and I’d get in trouble. I couldn’t trust her.”
During a confessional, Christine expanded on her issues with Robyn, 47, nearly four years after she and Kody, 56, called it quits in November 2021.
“There [were] just a couple times where I trusted her and I would tell her things that I thought were in confidence, and then I’d get in trouble for them and Kody would get mad,” Christine added. “I can’t trust her. So, I stopped confiding in her.”
Robyn acknowledged that telling Kody about her and Christine’s conversations didn’t bode well for their friendship but claimed she was just doing what she thought was right.
“Christine would say to me, ‘I wish Kody would know this. I wish Kody would understand this. I’m struggling with this,’” Robyn recalled. “Me being kind of a naive fool, I thought I could help, but I should have just stayed out of it completely.”
Kody, for his part, saw Robyn’s actions as a way to help the family.
“I think it’s really common that Robyn was always advocating for all [the women] — Christine and all my other wives. She wanted all those relationships to be good,” he claimed.
Christine — who noted she has a “great” relationship with Janelle Brown — said she had a similar experience with Meri Brown. (Janelle, 56, confirmed her separation from Kody in 2022 and Meri, 54, announced in 2023 that she and Kody had also parted ways.)
“Robyn messed with my head. I cut it off. Meri messed with me. I cut it off,” Christine told David on Sunday’s episode.
Christine then remembered one time where one of the women asked her whether they were “going to have a friendship” two months after they were allegedly “mean” to her, which didn’t sit well with the mother of six.
“I said, ‘Girl, you were mean to me two months ago. You were mean. No, I’m not going to be friends with you,’” Christine said of the conversation, which was apparently with Robyn or Meri.
Meri, meanwhile, told the cameras that “through the years, we have all been involved in hurts and disappointments” but didn’t expand further on her and Christine’s past problems.
When it comes to her relationship with Robyn, Christine made it clear to her husband that she has no interest in rebuilding anything.
“I’m not going to have a friendship with people who are going to do me harm and who are going to do others harm that I love,” Christine explained, noting, “I would love to be closer to Robyn’s kids.”
Christine added that once Robyn’s children are older she would “love a relationship with them,” claiming she “never intended to end it” with Robyn’s kids when she left the family. (Robyn shares Dayton, 25, Aurora, 23, and Breanna, 21, with her first husband. She and Kody share son Solomon, 14, and daughter Ariella, 9.)
“With her, yes, I was done. But not with her kids,” Christine explained.
Despite not being friendly with Robyn or Meri at the time of filming, Christine said she was open to “eventually” doing a family reunion with everyone. Robyn, however, expressed concerns over the idea.
“There’s a lot of toxicity in this family. A lot. It’s a lot of crap talk. There’s a lot of nasty behavior back and forth,” Robyn told the cameras. “I just don’t think that throwing us together in a room and seeing what happens, I mean, that’s just like — it’s a bad idea.”
Sister Wives airs on TLC Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
