Nicole Ari Parker Says It Would Be an Honor to Return to AJLT

Nicole Ari Parker is not quite ready to say goodbye to And Just Like That’s Lisa Todd Wexley.

Ari Parker, 55, exclusively told Us Weekly at the 2025 American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala that she would be happy to reprise her role if a revival were to happen.

“There’s grumblings always in the TV world. It would be an honor to go back to the show,” Ari Parker told Us. “Sarita [Choudhury] and I are really friends in real life, but the three original cast members [Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon] are really ingenious women and I would love to work with them again. And yeah, we’ll see. I’ll see what happens, but to be in so many scenes with Chris Jackson was truly a joy.”

In 2021, Ari Parker joined And Just Like That, the revival of the iconic dramedy Sex and the City, as Lisa Todd Wexley, a documentarian, wife, mother of three and close friend of Charlotte York (Davis).

Chris Jackson found it saddening that And Just Like That ended after three seasons on HBO Max. “I wouldn’t say [it was] difficult, just a little sad, but mostly because I just enjoy working with the company so much,” Jackson, 50, who played Herbert Wexley, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Only Make Believe 25th […]

Ari Parker is best known for her roles in Soul Food, Boogie Nights, Remember the Titans and more. She is married to fellow actor Boris Kodjoe. The couple wed in 2005 and have two children: daughter Sophie TeiNaaki Lee Kodjoe and son Nicolas Neruda Kodjoe.

In 2021, Charlotte York, Carrie Bradshaw (Jessica Parker) and Miranda Hobbes (Nixon) returned to the screen for the latest chapter in the lives of these iconic characters, over 16 years after the original series concluded in 2004. The SATC universe continued briefly in 2008 with the movie Sex and the City and its sequel Sex and the City 2 in 2010. The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to the Sex and the City series, which follows Carrie as a high school student in Castlebury, Connecticut, with dreams of moving to the Big Apple, premiered on the CW in 2013 for two seasons.

Noticeably missing from the original cast in AJLT was Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones. At the time of AJLT’s premiere, showrunner Michael Patrick King told The Hollywood Reporter that the revival wasn’t going to bring together the original four-friend group.

“It never was on the radar as four because Kim Cattrall, for whatever reason, didn’t want to play Samantha anymore while we were doing the [third] movie,” King, 70, said. “I never thought, ‘Oh, there’s a hole I have to fill.’ Samantha doesn’t not exist in their lives. [And Just Like That] was born of these three characters: What’s their life, and who can I bring in to inform it?”

While Cattrall did make a brief voice cameo in season 2, she quickly shut down rumors after of an official return via social media.

And Just Like That ended in August 2025 after three seasons. In an August 14 interview published by Variety, King spoke to the outlet about the ending of the series.

“Anyone else could keep going. I can’t,” King said in the interview published after the finale aired on HBO Max. “The idea of leaving a party while it’s still happening is the most elegant thing you can say for a TV series.”

Both Sex and the City and And Just Like That are available for streaming on HBO Max.
