Kris Jenner is paying tribute to daughter Khloé Kardashian’s ex Tristan Thompson’s brother Amari.
“Happy birthday to our sweet angel boy, Amari!!!” Jenner, 69, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, July 27. “You have touched all of our lives in ways I can’t explain. Through every smile, every hug, and all of the special moments we share together, you remind us of what truly matters… love, family, being present, and showing up for one another with our whole hearts.”
Alongside the message, Jenner shared a series of photos of Amari, 19, through the years. In one image, Amari sat in a chair as Kardashian and Thompson’s children — daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 2 — stood next to him. (Tristan is also dad to son Prince, 8, with ex Jordan Craig and son Theo, 3, with Maralee Nichols.)
“Amari, you are such a sweet soul and the brightest light,” Jenner concluded. “Thank you for teaching me more than I could ever teach you!!! I thank God every day for you, and I love you very much!! Lovey xo @realtristan13 @khloekardashian 🤍🎂❤️🎉.”

When the NBA player’s mom, Andrea, died in 2023, he was granted temporary guardianship of Amari. (TMZ reported at the time that Andrea suffered a heart attack while at home in Canada.)
“[I want] to ensure that Amari continues to have a happy and fulfilling life and to provide him with the best care possible,” Thompson, now 34, said in court documents obtained by Us Weekly at the time, adding that becoming Amari’s guardian “would be in his best interest because it would ensure that someone would be responsible for providing and fulfilling his basic needs.”

Thompson became Amari’s legal guardian in 2024. Amari has Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy that tends to manifest in early childhood, per the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Most individuals who have Lennox-Gastaut syndrome have some “impaired intellectual functioning or information processing, along with developmental delays and behavioral disturbances,” according to NINDS.
As Thompson has embraced the responsibility, he has also received some help from Kardashian, 41. When Thompson’s roof caved in, Kardashian allowed them to stay with her despite the pair no longer being in a romantic relationship.
“Khloé truly is such a big part of Amari’s life and I think it’s so incredibly impressive how she takes care of him,” Jenner said on an April episode of The Kardashians. “She’s literally a gift from God and so is Amari.”
