Jana Duggar and her husband, Stephen Wissmann, are preparing to start their family as she is pregnant with their first baby.
“We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family! We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!” read the caption of a joint Instagram post shared Monday, August 18.
In the post, the couple included a handful of pics from a maternity photo shoot. The first black-and-white image showed the pair locking lips, with Duggar’s baby bump visible beneath her long dress. Another snap showed the twosome resting their hands on her stomach.
“So excited for y’all! ❤️,” Jana’s sister Jill Duggar gushed in the comments section.

Jana and Wissmann met through their families in 2011. They dated on and off through the years before reconnecting in early 2024.
“It was like, ‘What are we doing? We still enjoy each other. We still really appreciate each other,’” Jana told People in August 2024. “I had been a slower mover on it, but just over time, his character, his coming back, still loving me no matter what. I know we have a big crazy family and still kind of putting up with a lot of things. I’m like, my goodness, there are not too many people that do that. He must really, genuinely care about me.”

Although the pair never publicly confirmed their courtship, they quietly got engaged in June 2024 and tied the knot in Arkansas that August. “I think it is one of those things that all girls envision someday,” Jana said of her wedding.
“For me, it felt like, ‘OK, it’s never coming.’ But now it’s starting to sink in,” she continued. “Reality is starting to set in. And I’m like, ‘Wow, this truly is something that I’ve dreamed of.’ And just to see it coming about is incredible and kind of hard to believe. It’s a dream come true.”
Jana — who is the eldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and starred alongside her family on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting from 2008 to 2015 and the spinoff Counting On from 2015 to 2020 — previously had doubts that she would ever settle down.

“I’m just like, ‘What is it? Is it me? Do I have a problem?’ I know I’ve prayed for this for years and years and definitely been like, ‘What’s the matter? Why can’t I just …’” she told People. “All of my siblings, most of them have been married in their early 20s. By far, I am the oldest. So it has been disheartening at times.”
After the nuptials, Jana moved from Arkansas to Nebraska to live with Wissmann. “He has a little house we bought that we’ve been fixing up and getting pulled together, and so that’s been fun,” she shared.
In September 2024, Jana offered a glimpse at the newlyweds’ life together. “Happy belated one-month anniversary, @stephenwissmann!!” she captioned photos of the duo via Instagram. “Life with you keeps getting better, and I can’t help but smile thinking about all the sweet moments we’ve shared. 🥂 to forever!”
