Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is opening up about how he supports his wife Hailee Steinfeld’s acting projects — although, according to the football player, she doesn’t need much help.
While appearing on the Friday, September 19, episode of ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show, Allen, 29, was asked how the pair show up for one another in their respective arenas.
“My wife texted me in the middle of this,” McAfee, 38, said, reading aloud his recent iPhone conversation with spouse Samantha. “‘I know you don’t care, but Josh Allen’s lady is in the show Emily Dickinson. I love that show. You should ask him if he runs lines with her.’”
Allen, however, revealed that he seldom gets a sneak peek at Steinfeld’s scenes before he watches his better half’s finished work on the silver screen.

“I wouldn’t say we run lines,” he admitted on Friday. “She reads all of her scripts by herself. She’ll give me some updates on them, but we will at some point go off and do some improv stuff. It’s pretty fun.”
Allen continued, “My wife, she’s an absolute stud. She’s the best, what can I say?”
The NFL star and Steinfeld, 28, have been together since 2023. They tied the knot in May during Allen’s offseason.
“It’s the best, honestly,” Allen said on “Fitz & Whit” podcast earlier this month, discussing married life. “I truly enjoy it [and] I love it. I think there’s a lot of freedom in it, and we’re always going to be in the honeymoon phase. She’s a freaking rock star. I love her, and I don’t know how she [navigates fame], but she does it.”

Just as Allen champions Steinfeld’s acting and music careers, she does the same with football for him.
“Football season is back, which means a few things,” Steinfeld previously wrote in a September 2024 issue of her “Beau Society” newsletter. “I get to watch my favorite person continue to make NFL history every week (go off 17) [and] we’re just a few weeks away from drastic temperature drops … where you’ll find me drinking hot chocolate bundled in vintage Bills gear.”
Steinfeld frequently cheers on Allen from a private box at Highmark Stadium during at-home Bills games. (The NFL team’s 2025-2026 season kicked off earlier in September.)
“On game days, I usually keep it to jeans, a T-shirt and a hat. That’s my go-to formula,” Steinfeld wrote in the September 5, issue of her newsletter, detailing her signature sideline style. “However, I have a lot of fun leaning into my vintage collection (which has turned into a real treasure trove in our basement), finding special pieces to pull out for the pure celebration that is a Sunday at Highmark Stadium. … A typical outfit might include a turtleneck bodysuit under a big vintage Bills sweatshirt, a comfy pair of jeans, high socks, sneakers and a beanie.”
