“You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting,” she said. “Of course I’m going to look different. Everybody on social media’s insane.”

Aging Gracefully

“I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m going to age gracefully,” Sydney Sweeney told Variety in October 2025. “It’s really funny. I’ll see things online like ‘comparison pictures.’ I’m like, ‘I’m 12 in that photo. Of course I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older.’”

Sydney Sweeney Says She’s Too Scared of Needles to Get Injectibles

Sydney Sweeney has been candid about her fear of needles multiple times.

While answering the internet’s most asked questions about herself in November 2025 with Wired, Sweeney was asked if she has any tattoos.

“No, I do not,” she answered. “I have the biggest phobia of needles. The biggest.” The actress explained that she needs to be “held down” while getting her blood drawn or getting shots. “I don’t know what happened when I was young, but I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried therapy, hypnotism, laughing gas, nothing works.”

She added, “It’s something that I’m trying to get better on.”

Sweeney previously opened up about her phobia while chatting with Variety in October 2025. “I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing,” she said at the time.

She again got real about her fear while filming a video for Allure in December 2025. “I am so scared of needles, you have no idea,” she said while debunking rumors that she’s had work done.

The Only Time Sydney Sweeney Considered Going Under the Knife

Sweeney added that her mom, Lisa Sweeney, then convinced her not to undergo a breast reduction. “My mom told me, ‘Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college,’” she recalled. “And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends.”
