Contrary to reports, Britney Spears was on her best behavior during a recent girls’ night out.
After Spears, 43, and her assistant got dinner at Red O in Westlake Village, California, on October 22, eyewitnesses claimed to the Daily Mail that the pop star acted “erratically” at the Mexican restaurant before “dangerously” speeding back to her home in the nearby city of Thousand Oaks.
However, the eatery’s general manager, Oliver Wynn, exclusively tells Us Weekly that the accounts are not “fair, realistic or true.”
“I was there and attended to Britney and her friend,” Wynn says. “She was super chill and really nice. She was in and out of the restaurant within an hour. She just kind of hung out, grabbed a bite to eat and left.”
Wynn shares that Spears sat in the restaurant’s recently launched lounge and cocktail area, where she “ordered a quesadilla and no alcohol.”
“Another guest or fan bought her a glass of wine at the bar and brought it over to her table,” he clarifies to Us. “She was not intoxicated.”

During Spears’ brief visit to Red O, she took photos and videos with multiple fans, according to the manager.
“I looked over a lot to make sure Britney was comfortable with taking pictures because if she wasn’t comfortable, I would have made sure it didn’t happen,” he says. “Britney was just chatting with her friend and fans the whole time. They were very chatty.”
Wynn shares that Spears — who wore a black wide-brim hat, an off-the-shoulder yellow top, white shorts and tan flip-flops — was “so, so sweet to everyone” and even “thanked the restaurant staff before she left” while holding hands with her friend.
“I was impressed at how nice she actually was,” he adds. “I worked at other restaurants frequented by a lot of celebrities, and I’ve never really seen a celebrity be as nice as Britney was.”
As far as paparazzi footage of Spears swerving lanes on her way home, a separate source explains to Us, “She was being followed by a bunch of cars, and their lights were really bright. She was a little overwhelmed and just wanted to get home.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Spears’ rep for comment.
Spears’ outing came one day after her ex-husband Kevin Federline released his memoir, You Thought You Knew, in which the former backup dancer expressed concern for the “Toxic” singer following the 2021 termination of her 13-year conservatorship.
“I’ve felt an increasing urgency that I can’t ignore,” he wrote in the book. “The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible. The signs are all there: the erratic behavior, the isolation, the cycling of people around her, the refusal to accept help. It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK.”
Federline, 47, even went so far as to say that he fears Spears is “getting close to the eleventh hour.”
“Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces,” he wrote, referencing the exes’ two children, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19. “They love their mom. They’ve seen the red flags. But they don’t know how to help without being attacked, misunderstood or blamed.”
Spears has repeatedly slammed Federline’s memoir, writing in part via X on October 15 that his “constant gaslighting … is extremely hurtful and exhausting.” She also condemned his “white lies,” adding that she is “the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.”
