Aerodrome AERO Crypto To 3X After Coinbase Launchpad?

If 2024 was the year of meme coins, then, without a doubt, 2025 will be the year of DeFi. Stablecoins, DEXes, perpetual DEXes, and other related projects dominate, commanding and moving hundreds of millions of dollars every week. Among them is Aerodrome AERO.

Aerodrome is among the top protocols on Base, the Ethereum layer-2. As of November 11, the decentralized exchange manages over $486M worth of assets.

Aerodrome Stands Out In Base

The high confidence stems from multiple factors. While DEX and DeFi is naturally competitive, even cut-throat, Aerodrome is among the go-to DEX on Base.

There are alternatives, as expected, but the DEX moves decent volume, taking on Uniswap head-on. Uniswap benefits from the first-mover advantage, boasting over $519M in TVL on Base alone.

Still, the fact that Aerodrome runs on Base alone means this specialty is also its edge. While earnings over the past eight quarters have been negative, the protocol is on course to generate positive gains in Q4 2025.

The primary reason earnings have remained negative since Q4 2023 is the distribution of tens of millions of dollars’ worth of AERO to users through liquidity mining and incentive programs. In Q2 2024, over $187M was distributed, while in Q3 2025, this figure exceeded $71M.

While token distribution is bearish because of dilution, AERO crypto has been pumping in recent days.

Of note, the launchpad aims to simplify launches of crypto projects, including meme coins, while concurrently making them instantly available to millions of users all without the need for external wallets or DEX hunting. Most importantly, the launchpad is regulated and on-chain.

On Base, Aerodrome is a big player, enabling seamless swapping of tokens. While there has been no confirmation, there is nothing that may prevent Aerodrome from being the choice liquidity funnel for Coinbase launchpad tokens.
