Anthony Joshua reveals how much he weighs two weeks out from facing Jake Paul at 245lbs limit

The weight stipulation imposed on Anthony Joshua by Jake Paul ahead of their December 19 showdown appears to be having little effect on the former heavyweight champion.

Paul is attempting the improbable: to rise from crossover attraction — with a loss to Tommy Fury and a string of wins over faded combat sports names — to defeating a 2012 Olympic gold medallist and former unified heavyweight king.

Joshua vs Paul will be an eight-round professional bout in Miami, and as part of the agreement Joshua must weigh no more than 245lbs. The 36-year-old has previously weighed as high as 255lbs, coming in at that mark for his fight against Jermaine Franklin Jr two years ago. His lightest weight came in 2013, when he scaled 229lbs for a six-rounder against Hrvoje Kisicek.

In a social-media post, Joshua filmed himself stepping on the scales just 15 days out from fight night. He weighed 244.7lbs (111kg), captioning the clip “Making weight is easy” before tucking into a meal.

Joshua has hit the 245lb mark three times in his career: in April 2015 when he stopped Jason Gavern in three rounds, in December 2015 when he halted Dillian Whyte in seven, and in September 2018 when he dispatched Alexander Povetkin in the seventh.

Last time out, ‘AJ’ weighed 252lbs for his world-title challenge against Daniel Dubois, which ended in a fifth-round knockout defeat.
