Watch With Us’ selections include season 2 of Landman, one of Taylor Sheridan’s many neo-Western shows on Paramount+, and Train Dreams, a historical drama starring Joel Edgerton and Felicity Jones.
Read on to learn about these picks and more.
‘Landman’ Season 2
From the dark and twisted mind of Taylor Sheridan comes another American West-set drama, this one focusing on the world of the oil industry, specifically in West Texas. In this world, people vie for a spot at the top as oil rigs take over the state and money flows, and conflicts arise between those who want a piece of the pie. The show focuses on Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), a crisis executive who starts season 1 by investigating a fatal accident at an oil rig.
The series is based on the Boomtown podcast hosted by Landman’s co-creator Christian Wallace. While not as favorably reviewed as some of Sheridan’s other television ventures, Landman is still an enjoyable slice of compelling drama even when (or because) the dialogue gets uncannily absurd. At the end of the day, it’s hard to complain when you’ve got Thornton in the lead.

‘A Man on the Inside’ Season 2
Looking for something new to break him out of a lonely, humdrum routine, retired professor and widower Charles Nieuwendyk (Ted Danson) answers a newspaper ad seeking someone elderly for an investigation. The job is to infiltrate a nursing home on behalf of a PI, going undercover as a resident to find a missing ruby necklace. As Charles acquaints himself with his new surroundings, he makes unexpected connections while he aims to unlock the case.
Season 2 of this delightful sitcom premieres this week on Netflix, and we couldn’t be more excited. The show excels as a dynamite showcase of Danson’s comedic chops and is a breezy watch due to its well-written characters and intriguing subplots. Season 2 is also set to feature the addition of Danson’s wife, Oscar winner Mary Steenburgen, to the cast.

‘Train Dreams’ (2025)
At the turn of the century, logger Robert Grainier (Edgerton) leads a quiet life in the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest as he works on the development of American railways, forcing him to spend long swathes of time away from his wife (Jones) and daughter. During this time of great change in American history, Robert experiences his own personal evolution as he endures both love and loss in this new world.
Train Dreams is based on the highly acclaimed 2011 novella of the same name by Denis Johnson. Since its initial premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Train Dreams has received a warm reception from critics who have praised the elegiac and meditative quality of the movie in addition to a sensitive performance from Edgerton.

‘Come See Me in the Good Light’ (2025)
In July 2025, poet Andrea Gibson passed away after a battle with ovarian cancer. In this examination of love and mortality, we see the couple attempt to reconcile the situation through the creative process, as Gibson works on her final spoken word performance.
Come See Me in the Good Light has been hailed as a thoughtful and touching look at love and human resilience that will be sure to bring audiences to tears, while nevertheless being buoyed by levity and humor from Gibon and Falley themselves. The movie does a fantastic job at bringing a very personal experience into the universal, in a story which highlights the power of human connection, existence and art.
